Yosemite

Monday, October 3

We decided we still had a lot to see so we signed up for the campsite another night and headed to Yosemite Valley, the busy heart of the park.  This park is VERY popular.  We can’t imagine what it must be like in the summer months.  Many of the big attractions are concentrated in this Sierra Nevada valley area making it very congested.
We spent most of our day there in the 3000 ft deep valley.
Again our pictures do no justice to the sights we saw but we’ll attempt to show you around.

There are several different kinds of granite in the peaks of Yosemite; some more solid than others.

When looking for a campground, we thought being in the valley might be a good idea ~ close to everything.
Thank goodness Camp 4 was full and we couldn't sign up for that.  We hadn't seen it yet ~

Camp 4 is a tent only campground popular for young hikers and rock climbers since it is located at the base of the mountain ~ not for us.

Our weather has been beautiful; days in the high 60’s and nights in the low 40’s.
